As part of our expanding mission, we have two new initiatives for 2012:
Partner Family Construction Education
We will be providing education classes for our newly selected partner families as they enter the program. The topics include “Tools and Safety” and “Siding and Painting”. Now when they go out to the worksite to work on their sweat equity hours, they’ll have confidence in their construction skills!
Partner Family Childcare Program
Each month, as part of their sweat equity program, Partner Families are required to attend a workshop. To help alleviate the burden of having to pay for childcare during these classes, we will be offering childcare to the families, free of charge. Volunteers are needed on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 5:30pm-7:30pm to help with this program. Students needing community service hours are encouraged to sign up, but must be 13 to participate.
